Legislative Update Bill Status 3/22/21

By Cindy Alia 3/22/21

Three bills you must insist are rejected today!

Have you been negatively impacted personally and economically by the one year “15 days to slow the curve” one-sided emergency shutdown on your life and liberty?

Do you believe now is the time to increase your taxes, pay for teacher housing, and punish you for caring for your property while others have abused their own environment?

If passed, these bills will result in permanent additional hardship to property owners!

Bills of Concern Status 3/12/21

By Cindy Alia 3/12/21

Your legislators are adjourned until Monday morning, thank you for your calls and emails to your represntatives and senators, you are causing changes to bad bills, and keeping bad bills at bay!  Bills of Concern for the coming week are listed here.  The legislative cutoff date for bills from the house of origin has passed on last Tuesday, March 9.  This helps to narrow our focus on bills we have objected to in the house of origin but still must fight to prevent passage in the opposite house.  Bills that have passed the house will now go to the senate and you need to call your senator!  Bills that have passed the senate will now be in the control of the house, and you need to call your representatives!

Bills of Concern Status 2/26/2021

February 26 2021 By Cindy Alia

Today we are in the midst of the legislative session with 38 days left for bills to become law.  There have been 2 cutoff dates met and we are nearing the point where bills heard in the house of origin must pass a floor vote in order to be heard in the opposite house.  There is still time to fight bad bills that may have passed the house of origin but have not yet made the transition to the floor of the opposite house.

We Must Reject HJR 4205! Adding a new section to the Washington state Constitution regarding the conservation and protection of the state's natural resources.

On the Importance of Leaving the Constitution Alone and Rejecting the Common Use of Legislation to Amend the Constitution.

Call and email your legislator, and call the legislative hotline 800 562 6000 and tell them you oppose HJR 4205

There are many bad bills this session, but HJR 4205 is potentially the most damaging to our life, liberty, and property!

No on Regionalization of Local Health Jurisdictions

HB 1152 and its companion bill SB 5173 seek to take your county level health departments ( Local Health Jurisdictions ) and create in their place regionalized "comprehensive public health districts"!  The problem with comprehensive health districts are that they are regionalized, and not specifically accountable to the county governments of just one county.  This makes your county health district less accountable to you as a citizen of a specific county.

A Good Bill for Better Representation Needs Your Attention

It is past time to create a state electoral system to vote for governor!

Elections in Washington State have become one-sided because population distribution has long since silenced the voices of those living outside the boundaries of our major cities.

This diminishment of the voices and votes of rural and suburban voters has caused important issues, lifestyles, and livlihoods to suffer because of ignorance or mis-understanding of the voting majority about what problems are faced by those who are not their neighbors, but perform many of the activities they unwittingly dismiss but depend upon.
